Obon and Shipping timetables

As it approaches August we wanted to make sure for anyone that wishes to purchase a uniform that there could be slight delays in shipping as next month has one of the largest (and longest) holidays here in Japan.

Obon (お盆) or just Bon () is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the departed (deceased) spirits of one's ancestors. This Buddhist custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors' graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. It has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance, known as Bon-Odori.

While the official holiday only lasts 3 days, the country generally closes down for a working week as well as the bracketing weekends.

Thus, for anyone who would like to get a uniform before September, we advise ordering in early August to make sure that you will receive it on time.

Enjoy the Summer Everyone!
